On the heels of yesterday's MBTA ridership increase announcement, WCVB-TV reported that ridership on the MBTA/MBCR commuter rail trains increased 2.6% in May 2008 compared to May 2007. This was the third straight month of passenger growth for the commuter rail system.
The broadcasts of this story on both WCVB-TV Channel 5's "The Eye Opener" and on WHDH-TV Channel 7 also made a mention on how the high cost of gas is impacting the MBTA. But I cannot find any written reports about this increase. That makes sense as gas is impacting everyone.
